Animus

A bold rebrand and digital experience for a creative video agency.

Animus is a video agency with a passion for bold, imaginative storytelling. Despite their exceptional capabilities, clients were not fully aware of their potential, and Animus aimed to attract more creative clients and explore new markets. I worked with Rogue Studio to develop a brand identity and website that repositioned Animus as expert creative problem solvers.

Brand Identity
Web Design

Our first step was to get to know Animus’s brand and needs a bit better. We discovered that we were looking for a brand that was bold, creative, and energetic. Animus’s tagline “Find your fascinating” represents their goal to help their clients discover what makes them special. They wanted their brand to reflect this concept of Animus as your creative guide to discovering your unique story.

To capture the essence of Animus's identity, I created a unique hand-crafted wordmark, slightly angled and full of personality, that feels friendly, energetic, and approachable.

We complemented this wordmark with vibrant colors and employed a geometric typeface that further enhances the brand's inviting and accessible nature.

To emphasize Animus as the creative guide to uncovering unique stories, I created a viewfinder frame that can adapt to different sizes and can be used to frame videos, imagery, and text, creating the impression of viewing content through a camera lens.

When approaching the design for the website, our goals were to show off Animus’s work, create opportunities to connect with the right audience, and integrate the new branding through motion and animation.

We made the film brackets a prominent part of the website, zooming in and focusing on interactive content.
